Band
In the Bulldog Band program, students learn to play band instruments and read music, improving on these skills throughout their junior high and high school careers. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of performance and contest opportunities for individual, small group, and full band. Through their experience in band, students gain communication and leadership skills and learn the values of commitment and improvement.

Yearbook
Yearbook is a yearlong course designed to create, publish and distribute the school’s yearbook. Students in this course are required to already know basic elements of design, and Adobe Photoshop programs. The students learn techniques of selling ads, and then sell ads in the business community and to senior parents; create layouts and complete pages of the yearbook; and distribute the yearbook to the school population. Outside class time is often required for members of the yearbook staff, and all staff members must recognize they represent New Waverly High School, the Yearbook Staff, and the Yearbook Advisor.
